What is The Facet System?

Many of us are blind to the parts of us that we hold within that we don't seem to acknowledge. But what if I told you that you were neglecting yourself by not acknowledging these very important parts of you?

Within this blog post, I want to speak about what these parts of us are and the importance of connection with them. Each of us has them and each of us tap into them on our day-to-day but most of us do not acknowledge they are there.

The Layout

To make understanding these parts of us a little easier, I created a system in order to connect deeper called The Facet System. The Facet System is a pyramidal tier system that holds seven sub-personalities or pieces that make us who we are. Note that just because this is a pyramidal structure of tiers it does not mean that the top tier is better than the bottom, they are all equal in value.

We have all heard about these parts of ourselves, the Inner Child being the one who holds all of our childlike creative capabilities, our Inner Teen holding that rebellious moody side, our Shadow holding all of the pain and trauma, of course, we have heard about Self and Ego being the most talked about parts that hold our inner and outer characteristics and Im sure you've heard about the Higher Self being the connection to Source or God. Each one of these pieces of us we have separated for far too long and I had to make the change. I took what was given and I created The Facet System grouping and connecting each one of these pieces of ourselves together calling them Facets and I even added in a sub-personality called the Inner Parent. There will be more about the Inner Parent below.

Each tier has a set of sub-personalities that hold specific characteristics that make us who we are. Starting off with the third tier, this tier holds four facets which are the Inner Child, Inner Teen, Inner Parent, and Shadow Self. This tier specifically holds onto the limiting beliefs, traumas, and wounds that happened within certain timeframes of our life and specifically the Shadow Self holding all of the anger, resentment, hatred, demise, etc.

Tier Three

  • Inner Child

    • Childlike personality, creativity, and imagination.

  • Inner Teen

    • Rebellion, spontaneity, and adventure.

  • Inner Parent

    • Prompt, Caregiver, and action-oriented.

  • Shadow Self

    • Blunt, angered, strong, and brave.

The next tier is tier two with the Self and Ego. This tier doesnt hold onto memories so much as it gives us our characteristics of our inner and outer worlds. Our Self holds the inner characteristics of who we truly are and what we truly love within our heart space. Our Ego holds the outer characteristics of how we want to be seen by others around us. The so-called mask we wear around new people.

Tier Two

  • Self

    • Holds the inner heart space characteristics and heart space interests.

  • Ego

    • Holds the outer characteristics of how we want to be viewed by others. (The Mask)

And finally, there is tier one with the Higher Self which is the connection to Source, God, Universe, etc. Our Higher Self holds the wisdom and intuitiveness that we have to guide us through life challenges and pathways. The Higher Self is essentially the soul of who we are.

Tier One

  • Higher Self

    • The connection to Source, God, Universe etc. The soul-based level for our physical and mental bodies.

Healing with The Facets

Now that you know what the Facet System is and all of its details, it's time for you to learn how to heal with the facets.

As I said previously, every facet has its own timeline, especially the tier three facets. Most of the wounding, trauma, and limiting beliefs that come up that block you from getting to where you want to be in life comes from one of the four tier three facets. This is because they hold the memories of where the spikes of dissonance came from. Every memory that is taken into the body in an unpleasant way I call dissonance. Whether that be trauma or something that happened to us that kept us in a state of disharmony with our happiness and true alignment.

The key to healing with the facets is understanding the step-by-step process, which I will explain below.

  1. First, you should find where the current dissonance you're feeling is coming from. Take a deep dive into why you are being triggered in such a way. Figure out what similar memory you have connects with how you feel currently and trace it back to a certain period in your life. For example, if this reminds you of something you felt when you were a child this would give you a direct connection to your Inner Child.

  2. Now that you have found the connection to which part of your life and the facet that holds onto the emotion or wound, it's time to do the healing. All healing work should come with unconditional love, grace, and understanding for all of your facets because that love is truly Source' love. Speak with the facet that feels the emotional dissonance and be there for them in a caring a comforting way. We have to truly love and communicate with the facet in order to help them through the pain they bear.

  3. If you can create a way to help your facet through the issue of having mindfulness this will be beneficial for your facets learning. We have to be the teacher of our facet and to reparent the facet with what we know is best for ourselves. Allowing them to genuinely show their emotions in which every way is needed. Yelling, crying, laughing, etc.

  4. After giving time and energy to communicating with your facet and finding the issue, it's now time to let go and reprogram. Speak with your facet and ask them if there is anything you need to let go of in order for your path to be cleared. If there are things that need to be let go of you have the duty to let go of it whether it is a limiting belief or forgiving someone who hurt you. No matter what it is, let it go and love the wound. I suggest using the method of journaling to fully come into your own feelings and emotions.

As you create a routine of helping, connecting, and loving your facets you will start to see a difference in your health, your happiness, and your sense of peace rise beyond what it has ever been before.
