Awakening To A Trauma Cycle

This year for me has been one of many that have woken me up to the cycles that I have been going through at an unconscious level. Within each awakening to these cycles, I have been through a period of dealing with my shadow and really unchaining myself from these ancestral or generational curses, as some may call them. Becoming a coach has given me a big push in healing myself to make sure I have all the tips and tools in order for others to heal too.

Uncovering The Truth and Ask The WHY's

I think within every cycle there will always be a stage where we become unconscious of the problem over and over again until we come to an unease within us that something is wrong or that something is no longer aligned with us.

We all have to go through these stages within our lives to unearth the true feelings that are authentic to us. I have been through countless situations where I have been put in harm's way because of the trauma cycle that I energetically was attached to. One of these connections for me was abusive relationships beginning with family and ending with romantic relationships. I have always wondered why certain things keep happening to me within these relationships so I asked myself again and I have been able to see a new connection that I have never seen before. I realized at that moment that this was a trauma cycle that I was in generationally and intuitively I felt this could also be ancestral.

One thing that my mother said to me over the phone made it click within my mind. She said "Yeah, I understand I've also been through it too." I realized from that small but big clue that this cycle was much bigger than just this lifetime and I started to look into my family tree and how the women on my mother's side have been treated. Seeing certain connections made so much sense and made me understand that I now need to do healing work for my ancestors. I now needed to make the decision to break the chains of this curse forever.

So you may be wondering how I even figured out what this cycle was or how to even break it. Well, this is the first step. Start by asking yourself what are the cycles you go through, this can be a cycle in relationships and attracting the same people over and over again. This can be a cycle of abuse that happens over and over again in different ways. This could very well be a cycle of reactions you get from family or friends. Whatever this is for you big or small, this is the time to acknowledge it.

Second, you then have to start asking yourself the WHY. You may have heard me talking about this before and I will never stop talking about this. Asking yourself as many questions as you can to really understand why this cycle exists is crucial.

Some of the questions you can ask yourself could be:

  1. What does this _____________ cycle pertain to my life?

  2. Why do a feel __________ (emotion) when I go through the same situations?

  3. What is the origin of this cycle?

You can also get really detailed and ask yourself more questions. For an example, if your cycle of abuse is connected to lack of worth you can ask yourself these questions.

  1. Why am I stuck within this cycle of abuse?

  2. What happened to me to inherit the lack of worthiness I feel?

  3. What emotion comes up for me when I try to make a better decision?

This cycle can be anything for you and I really suggest getting a journal and writing down all of your questions and sitting with each question for at least 3 minutes to get the answer from your subconscious mind.

Breaking The Chains

After you have acknowledged what is really happening to you, you can now break the chains of this cycle forever. You have to understand that this isn't a one-night go around and everything is fine. Sometimes it can be like that when we decide to break cycles but something bigger will take a little more energy and time. Breaking the chains of something so deep can sometimes be very difficult depending if you have a lot of limiting beliefs that revolve around this same cycle.

Breaking the chains means that you will have to be brave, strong and understand your why. You have to be determined that you want to make the change for yourself and yourself only. I have made many decisions to break every limiting belief that I have and take my power back. You can do the same. I promise!

If you are questioning how to break limiting beliefs, you can start to do your inner healing work with meditation, subliminal healing, sound healing, or even looking for help within therapy or holistic methods like yoga, breath work, reiki, shamanic healing, and hypnosis.

Breaking the chains also means that we have to make a different decision than we did the last time. If you are constantly making the decision to go back to someone or do the same thing over and over it is time to make a different decision to take yourself out of this cycle completely. Putting ourselves first and thinking about what's best for us. Following our intuition and not being afraid to ask for help.

The Next Decision Is the Best Decision

Deciding that you will no longer stoop under the ideals of someone else and will stand up for who you are, is your next step. This gives you the opportunity to take your power back and to look at your life without restriction. I also want you to know that the next step you take to getting out of the cycle will be the best decision you have made for yourself. Healing the cycle once and for all will not only heal you but also heal your ancestral lineage that has been through the same things many many lifetimes ago.

One key to really healing a cycle, like I said before, is making a better decision for yourself. But another important key for healing is taking the negative and turning it into a positive. Learning what it has showed you and what blessings you have received from it. Allowing this cycle to not only be a part of your story but your ultimate success story!
